Krispy Kreme Challenge

I didn’t participate in the challenge, but I was there to witness it. The Krispy Kreme Challenge is a foot-race that benefits the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. The four mile race has two legs. The first two mile leg is from the bell tower at NC State University to the Krispy Kreme in downtown Raleigh. Before the second leg of the race the runners are required to eat one dozen Krispy Kreme donuts. Then they run back to the bell tower. After crossing the finish line and catching their breath about 5 percent of the runners “refund” their donuts into big blue trashcans. It was an awesomely bizarre scene. This year 3000 registered runners helped raise 20,000 for the Children’s hospital.
